This 600 square foot, high end suite, designed and built in 2015-2016, was inspired by the natural beauty of the rugged Maine coast and is part of an architecturally designed three story home on 4 acres. mfortable seating area looking out at Blue Hill Bay and Swann's Island. The sofa converts to a single bed. Hardwood flooring is throughout. The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and granite counter tops. The dining area has seating for four with water views. For those chilly evenings, a glass front, gas stove with remote provides both warmth and ambiance. The beautifully appointed bath is highlighted by a sea glass tile tub wall, rainfall shower head and spacious vanity with a marble counter top. The light filled bedroom boasts an ocean view and a luxurious upholstered Queen bed including bedside tables and reading lamps. Window treatments throughout provide light control and privacy. The suite is fully equipped with all linens, paper products, plastic products, basic spices, pantry items including coffee, filters, tea, sugar, basic spices, food storage, foil, etc. The bath is stocked with basic toiletries and first aid supplies. A spiral staircase leads to the private entrance of this 2nd floor suite separated from the rest of the house with a sound insulating door and locks. This is useful to note, as the great room of the apartment is above the carport, and below our deck, while apartments bedroom and bathroom are below our kitchen and dining area. We have insulated for sound, and are respectful, but please note that you can hear our dogs, our footsteps, or voices periodically. The suite enjoys a stone patio, water feature including a plunge pool, garden with a picnic table, grill, outdoor seating areas,a Bocce court and fire pit overlooking the sea views. Additional landscaping was installed in 2020 featuring a dry Brooke, framed by flowering shrubs, woodland trees, bridges and stone highlights. Seaview Quarters is approximately 600 feet from the waters edge in a woodland setting on the Quiet Side of Mt Desert Island in Tremont. Enjoy the sights and sounds of lobster boats in the morning and a welcoming sea breeze on a warm afternoon. It enjoys sightings of eagles, sea birds, fox and deer on the property. Sea View Quarters is about a half hour from the entrance to Mt Desert Island, and about a half hour from Bar Harbor. It is less than 2 miles to Back Beach on Bass Harbor and to Thurston's Lobster Pound. It is 4 miles to Ship Harbor Trail, Bass Harbor Lighthouse and to Southwest Harbor with it's restaurants and shopping. Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are about 18 miles. Close kayak launch areas are Back Beach and Seal Cove. The majority of Acadia’s Hiking Trails are on the Eastern Lobe of the Island, along with the Carriage Roads. The Western Lobe of the Island also has great Acadia Park hiking trails including Acadia Mt., St. Sauveur, Beech Mt, and the Western Mountains, which are about 15 minutes from the suite, and tends to be quieter. Echo Lake with it’s swimming beach, facilities, and trails, Flying Mt and Long Pond where you can rent kayaks and canoes along with Trails are also about 15 minutes away. Acadia National Park comprises about half of Mt Desert Island but the scenery on the entire island is pretty spectacular. There is a reason this is National Park Territory! The town of Southwest Harbor is about 10 minutes from us, and has Food Stores, Laundromats, great Restaurants, Visitor Center, and shopping. We might be prejudiced, but we think the best lobster pound is Thurston’s which is 1.6 miles from us in Bass Harbor, a large and active lobstering harbor.
