Snowpocolypse hit Tired Dog Ranch on Saturday, Feb. 23rd and was unrelenting - 9 power poles down on LaDuke Rd. and very wet snow, approximately 12" dumped, crashing trees all around, though not one structure was damaged. Power remains out until next week, though spirits are high as the driveway was finally cleared for ingress/egress Friday morning. This means chickens and horses are fed and watered more easily (long driveway with lumpy snow makes for hard hoofing of bales, water and grain to critters), food doesn't need to be packed in and stinky dog tired mama can drive to and mooch off her mama for needed showers and access to less wilted staple. In the meantime, Kitty Bonkers perches on stump awaiting warmer days.

Feeling blessed to have Roam Events spend the weekend at Tired Dog Ranch, filling space, filling hearts, filling tummies, and filling time on trails testing some awesome Specialized mountain bikes with Ash and Andy at the handlebar with thrills, chills and maybe a few spills - up and down and all around. Until I see you all again, Happy Trails!!!!

Ash Bocast and her group of very fun mountain biking ladies trying out some sweet new rides are sharing a beautiful weekend under the stars and almost full moon in the upper meadow after pounding trail. Campfire aglow, hearts swirling with fond memories of trails galore, and a feast for a queen circled around the Kampsite Kitchen and Shower Shelter (KKASS).

Camping at Tired Dog Ranch is right around the corner! Big central fire pit, composting toilets, potable water, Cadillac Campsite Kitchen & Shower Shelter, open air Long House with lights and ready for action, and open meadow surrounded by old and second growth evergreens awaits your musty sleeping bag, spiderwebbed tent and tin smelling canteen. Enjoy a night under the colloquium of lights, owls lulling you to sleep, a dew laden morning and happy feet and wheels ready to hit the trails. Season opens Memorial Day Weekend and won't stop till the last cone falls (okay, that means September 31st unless the pine just won't let go of it's baby seedling). Tired Dog Ranch, your vacation get-away from the “dog-eat-dog” world, provides pet friendly, full service vacation Cottage (4 beds), Cabin (3 beds), Carriage House and Yurt Rentals (2 beds each). Each dwelling is uniquely designed and defies anything you’ll find at a motel or other drop and go rental. All dwellings with wi-fi, satellite TV and everything you’ll need for your home away from home experience. The free range chickens are doing their part to provide farm fresh eggs and the host will pitch in the butter, coffee, teas and condiments to help start your morning on the right side of the dog bed.

Who wants to sleep under the stars? Camping in the upper meadow surrounded by a collosium of old growth evergreens and sky filled with a constellation truly shines. The ‘Westfir Outpost’ Campgrounds includes a “Clamping Shelter” (full kitchen w/cook and serve-ware & 4 hot showers), Basketball Court w/4 hoops, and Equine accommodations (mare motels, water trough, hay net, muck rake & wheelbarrow).

With 18 acres of diversity backed up to the western slopes of the Cascade Range, this level and sloping parcel is teaming with woodland, meadow, orchard and farm life and meets all the wishes of the wanderer in you!
