Central Alabama Community College Celebrates 59th Annual Commencement Exercises

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. — Central Alabama Community College proudly celebrated its 59th Annual Commencement Exercises on May 13 at the Alexander City Campus, honoring graduates who successfully completed academic, technical, and workforce programs during the 2025–2026 academic year.

The ceremony brought together graduates, faculty, staff, family members, friends, and community supporters for a day of celebration and recognition as students marked one of the most significant milestones of their educational journeys. The commencement exercises reflected not only academic achievement, but also the determination, perseverance, and personal growth demonstrated by the graduating class.

The College was honored to welcome Senator Clyde Chambliss as the keynote speaker for the commencement exercises. Senator Chambliss encouraged graduates to continue pursuing excellence, embrace opportunities for growth, and remain committed to serving their communities as they move forward into the next chapter of their lives.

Among those participating in commencement were 17 dually enrolled high school students who earned two-year college degrees prior to graduating from high school. These exceptional students represented Benjamin Russell High School, Central High School – Coosa County, Reeltown High School, Sylacauga High School, Talladega High School, and Wetumpka High School. Their accomplishments highlight the strength of Central Alabama Community College’s dual enrollment partnerships and demonstrate the opportunities available for motivated students to accelerate their educational journeys while still completing their secondary education.

In addition, seven students from E.H. Gentry Technical Facility participated , including six students who are visually impaired/blind and one student who is deaf/hard of hearing. Their participation served as a meaningful reflection of the College’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and educational opportunity for all students. Their achievements were celebrated alongside fellow graduates as an inspiring example of perseverance and determination.

Graduates represented a wide range of programs, including academic transfer pathways, career and technical education programs, workforce development credentials, and health sciences programs. Many students balanced their studies alongside careers, military service, and family responsibilities while pursuing their educational goals.

This year’s ceremony featured the largest number of students participating in commencement exercises in several years, highlighting the continued growth and momentum of Central Alabama Community College. While not all graduates were able to participate in the ceremony, the large number of students choosing to walk in commencement underscored the pride and accomplishment shared across the College community.

“This commencement ceremony represents much more than the awarding of degrees and certificates,” said President Jeff Lynn. “It reflects determination, sacrifice, growth, and the pursuit of opportunity. We are deeply proud of every student who has reached this milestone, and we are grateful to the families, faculty, and communities whose support helped make their success possible. Seeing one of the largest groups of graduates participate in commencement in recent years is a tremendous accomplishment, and it speaks to the strength, resilience, and promise of our students as well as the continued growth of our institution.”

Throughout the ceremony, graduates crossed the stage before cheering family members and supporters as they received diplomas and certificates recognizing their achievements. The event celebrated not only the completion of academic programs, but also the bright futures that lie ahead for Central Alabama Community College graduates.

Central Alabama Community College remains committed to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality educational opportunities that prepare students for transfer success, workforce readiness, and lifelong learning. The College continues to serve communities throughout Central Alabama through innovative programs, student support services, and strong community partnerships.

Central Alabama Community College congratulates the Class of 2026 and wishes its graduates continued success in their future educational and professional endeavors.
