Morning Hike: Dog friendly!
Tackle Danny On Trail on Big Mountain—wildflowers, killer views, and the option to ride the gondola down (or up!). It is about 10 degrees cooler so bring a jacket.

Picnic Essentials: (optional) You can always grab a bite at the summit house.
Pick up trail-friendly bites at Third Street Market or Mountain Berry Bowls. Bring:
• Huckleberry cheese, local bread, smoked meats
• Fresh fruit + cookies
• Plenty of water & a thermos of coffee!

Whitefish Trail – Lion Mountain or Swift Creek for a mellow, forested loop with lake glimpses or just take a dip in Whitefish lake or float on a paddle board ( rentals at the lake)

The shuttle in Glacier park is up and running!!

Glacier National Park's Hiker-Biker Shuttle Service will begin tomorrow (Saturday, May 24) and will run Saturday and Sunday through June 29 or until the day the Going-to-the-Sun Road fully opens, whichever comes first.

The Hiker-Biker Shuttle will run 9 am to 4 pm and stop at the Apgar Visitor Center, Lake McDonald Lodge, and Avalanche Creek approximately every 15-30 minutes. The shuttle is first-come, first-served.

A Little Story from the Lodge… 🌸

Last April, a family booked Black Bear Lodge for a much-needed spring reset. The snow had mostly melted, but there were still little patches in the shady spots where their kids raced to make "the last snowball of the season."

Mornings started slow—coffee brewing, dogs running through the yard, sunlight streaming through the big windows. By mid-morning, they were off exploring Whitefish trails, grabbing pastries downtown, and snapping photos near Glacier Park’s entrance (still quiet before the summer crowds).

At night? They gathered by the firepit, wrapped in blankets, roasting s’mores under the stars. The air was crisp, but the hot cocoa was warm—and so were the memories.
