When people think about summer vacations, they usually picture the same handful of destinations.
But some of the best family memories happen in places that aren't on everyone's radar.
π Cayuga Lake, New York
ποΈ Mount Rushmore & the Black Hills
πΊ Helen, Georgia
π² Sunriver, Oregon
π· Texas Hill Country
What I love about these destinations is that they offer something a little different. Think lake days instead of crowded beaches, scenic drives instead of long attraction lines, outdoor adventures, small-town charm, and plenty of opportunities to unplug and spend time together.
As a travel advisor (and mom of three teens), I'm always looking for destinations that combine fun, value, and experiences the whole family will actually enjoy. These five spots are all currently on my radar for future summer vacations.
Have you been to any of them? Which one would you choose? π
