It's with a heavy heart that I post this: Chuck passed away peacefully, surrounded by family after a brief illness on Sunday morning. It's a loss for fishing, especially for those who fished Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake has lost one of its advocates and champions. Worse, it's a loss for our family: he was a wonderful husband to Sharon, proud father to Mary and Stephanie (and their husbands, Craig and Chris) and doting grandfather to Micalena, Nathan and AnnaLea. The memorial service will be a Mass at Annunciation Church in Aurora/Marywood with lunch afterwards on Friday, November 11th at 11:00 AM. Please keep our family in your prayers.

Sorry I haven't posted but I'm not on Facebook because I've been busy, just like everyone else. I'm getting ready for the Tinley Park Show on Valentine's Weekend. Also, I will be attending the Captain's and Guide's Weekend this year and I will be speaking on " Where To Find Early Spring Fish ". This year at the Cabela's Hoffman Estates store it will be held Saturday & Sunday Feb. 27 and 28 Sat. 10am till 4pm.and Sun. 10am till 3pm. They will have some super sales, so come on in and take advantage, and maybe learn some of the secrets from the speakers

Cabela's will also host their Spring Outdoor Event March 12 and 13. Same times and
more sales so come on in and I'm sure that I will be there both days

I'm going to be at Cabela's in Hoffman Estates this weekend, talking about fishing and Lake Geneva and something I've been working on this winter. What is it? Well, it's something historic that's kept me VERY busy. Hope to have pictures up soon.

Hello everyone, I've got some good news for you this year. Some of you have expressed an interest in ice fishing, which is something I used to do but lost interest. This year I found a great ice-fishing specialist who has agreed to fish under "Chuck's Fishing Guide Service". Jim Kempf is a Wisconsin resident that lives by Delavan Lake and specializes in ice fishing that lake. Jim owns and operates JK Services, "a great small engine repair service". Jim is very busy during Spring, Summer and Fall but finds himself with time to ice fish all winter. This year I convinced Jim to get his guide license and share his knowledge with my cliental. I have fished with Jim and I'm convinced that he will give you the same quality service that I provide. Jim will treat you to an ice-fishing experience that you will long remember. Jim fishes differently than most: he uses a camera. You can relax in a warm ice house, watch the camera and set the hook WHEN THE FISH GOBBLES THE BAIT! Fishing with Jim is like Fishing with Chuck; all you have to do is bring yourself. Jim fishes out of portable ice houses because, just like the summer, sometimes you've got to move (and at times) only a few feet. Jim will treat you to bottle water, cans of pop, hot coffee and (for all-day trips) a hot sandwich. Rates start at $120.00 for one, call for our winter rates and let us show you a great time. Another note from Chuck's Fishing Service
I've tried to keep my cost down and have not raised my prices in 9 years. This coming season I'm raising my prices from $175.00 to $225.00. I hate to do this but to keep Chuck's Fishing Guide Service in business, it has become a necessity. I've enjoyed fishing with all of you and hope you will continue to fish with me. A lot of you have become much more than clients; you've become my friends.

Been busy on the water fishing. Smallmouth fishing has been great in 22ft of water temp 74. I bought a old wooden guide boat that was built in 1949 for one of the early guides on Geneva Lake. Can't wait to get it in the water next year. Working on a new trailer for it. Check out the photo.
