‼️Please be advised of trail changes‼️

Trail Update – Devil Anse Trail System

Please be advised that approximately 20 miles of trails on the Devil Anse Trail System will be closed as of today, Monday, May 18th, 2026, due to unforeseen circumstances. This closure includes the direct access route, Trail 21, into the Town of Matewan, and the surrounding pod of trails.

However, riders will still be able to access the Town of Matewan, which is only a short ride along WV-Route 49, by using Trail 43. We have also added roughly 17 miles of new trails, which also includes some single track!

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue working to provide a safe and enjoyable riding experience for all visitors.

Please review the updated trail map before heading out to help plan your ride accordingly.

Hello Friends of The Mountain Laurel House and the Hatfield-McCoy Trails!
As some of you know, the Coalfields have been hit with a devastating flood. Many of our residents have lost everything and many others have lost a lot. We have been without power and water for days.
Cleaning supplies, toiletries, brooms, gloves, baby products, and clean drinking WATER are needed by so many residents.
If you would like to directly ship supplies to The Mountain Laurel House, we will ensure that they get to the local distribution locations.
Most of all, pray for our people. 🙏🏻 We are strong and resilient, but right now everyone is tired and overwhelmed!
