Cool off at Margaret Lindley Park — the swimming pond is officially open for the season! ☀️💦

The Department of Public Works completed spring maintenance and turned on the water diversion from Hemlock Brook, and after water testing by the Health Inspector on Monday, conditions are ALL CLEAR for swimming.

Whether you’re looking to wade, splash, or take a full swim, it’s a perfect time to enjoy one of Williamstown’s favorite summer spots!

Gregg August Ensemble: Crosscurrents and Cross Rhythms, Dialogues on Race, Volume II august

Dialogues on Race, Volume II is a continuing project that originated in 2009 after Gregg received a joint commission from the Jerome Foundation and the Jazz Gallery in New York City. What began as a commission for a full length concert work, Dialogues on Race was recorded and released in 2020, receiving a GRAMMY nomination for Best Large Jazz Ensemble album. Crosscurrents and Cross Rhythms, Dialogues on Race, Volume II will be the second installment of the series.

The idea behind the work is to create musical dialogue or conversations which discuss race relations in the United States. Through the melodies, arrangements and improvisations, a full discourse takes place.

As you enjoy glorious springtime hikes and walks in the northern Berkshires and elsewhere, you may see baby wild animals.

Do you know what to do if you find a baby bird, a nest of newborn bunnies, or another young animal in your yard this spring?

Usually, the best thing for them is to leave them be.

Every year, people take young animals from the wild in a well-intentioned attempt to save them, but this often does more harm than good. The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife reminds us that young wildlife belong in the wild.

Please leave young wildlife alone.

Finding a young animal alone does not mean it’s been abandoned or needs to be rescued. Adults are often nearby and visit their young only occasionally to avoid detection from predators.
