For Americans traveling abroad for a summer vacation, keep these tips in mind!
✅ Make sure your passport isn’t about to expire (some countries require it to be valid for six months beyond your trip).
✅Check local laws and requirements at travel.state.gov/destination.
✅ Sign up for STEP at step.state.gov.
❌ Do NOT travel anywhere with a Level 4 Travel Advisory for any reason.
❌ Do NOT accept drinks from strangers.
❌ Do NOT break local laws.
❌ Do NOT place your phone or purse on the table or on the back of chairs at restaurants.
❌ Do NOT ignore local rip tide warnings or swim in undesignated areas.

This shrimp ceviche jar is fresh, zesty, and perfect for hot days — every bite is bright and refreshing.

Texas Gulf Shrimp Ceviche Jar

Ingredients:

1 lb (450 g) shrimp (peeled & deveined)
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup cucumber (finely diced)
1 cup tomatoes (diced)
1 avocado (diced)
1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
2 tbsp fresh cilantro (chopped)
Salt & pepper to taste

Preparation:
Bring a pot of water to a boil, then blanch the shrimp for 2–3 minutes until pink and fully cooked. Transfer immediately to ice water to cool, then chop into bite-sized pieces.

In a large bowl, combine shrimp with lime juice and lemon juice. Add cucumber, tomatoes, avocado, red onion, and cilantro. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix everything gently, cover, and refrigerate for at least 20–30 minutes to let the flavors marinate.

Assembly:
Spoon the ceviche into jars or bowls. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or on its own for a light, refreshing meal.

Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 3–4
Calories: ~280 per serving
