1916 Bungalow Historic Wilmington

The tree in the front had two large limbs come down...far bigger than the photo was able to capture. We had to cut most of it just to get to the front door. In quick order, the path was clear and up the tree we went to cut it completely loose from the trunk. All of the big sections were cut and taken to the cabin we own the mountains to be split and used for fire wood, while the rest of the debris was taken in 2 loads to the landfill.

This is a photo of the fence on the other side; opposite of where the tree fell. This was mostly done by wind. We removed the impacted sections, re-cemented the posts, and repaired and damaged boards. All done now!

We have had a number of people reach out about the property before, during and after Hurricane Florence. We thought we would post some before and after photos for everyone to see. Overall, we were lucky! Largely just a tree and some limbs, with some damage to our fence. All repaired now!

Good morning from Wilmington! We made it back yesterday. Have some tree limbs to finish cleaning up from yesterday. We are in a strong neighborhood; people helping everywhere. Nearly all the damage to homes and this part of Wilmington was related to trees coming down. I think some homes near the park may have had some flooding, but haven’t ventured over there yet. We should have most of our place cleaned up today!

We haven't posted in a while, but we have been VERY busy with our Spring refresh of the home! We recently installed a campsite-grade grill in the back, to make it easier for guests to cook and grill outside! Just be sure to do so safely!
