Hello all, I would like to share a couple of subjects near to my heart. 1 being Travel, and the other being folks with disabilities.
I've helped people navigate mobility and medical challenges, including my own husband who has had Parkinson's for many yrs.
It was a slow narrowing. A trip that felt too complicated. An excursion I knew he couldn't manage. A destination that sounded amazing but I couldn't be sure would actually work for him.
His world just kept getting smaller.
I decided I was not going to let his world keep shrinking.
I became a travel agent.
I want folks to have access to travel, specifically for travelers with mobility needs.
I know to verify bathroom door widths, not just trust that "accessible" means accessible.
I know to check whether the route from the room to the pool is actually paved or whether it's gravel that a wheelchair can't navigate. Me
I know to confirm whether a shore excursion has a real lift and ramp or whether they're planning to physically lift someone out of their chair.
I know because Ive lived it.
If you or someone you love feels that their world has made travel feel impossible, I want you to know something.
It's not impossible. It just needs the right person planning it.
If you've been dreaming of a trip but aren't sure how to make it work with mobility needs, let's talk.
Drop the word TRAVEL in the comments or send me a message.
