Just getting underway renovating the Cottage! Took a long time to get the contractor selected, plans drawn and approved but we're underway! Hope to be complete in about 8 weeks....too optimistic?!

We're finally starting on the cottage renovation! We got the yard all cleaned up previously...removed piles of junk, ripped out the weedy lawn and removed the chain link fence and tore down the storage shed. After finally selecting our contractor and getting plans drawn up and approved, we pulled off much of the old rotten siding and removed the old windows on the front porch. We'll be rebuilding the original front wall with two new windows and a door, and keeping the front porch wide open. The interior will be one good sized room with a queen bed, full kitchen and bathroom. We're going to add a little laundry shed onto the back porch. Hope to be done in 8 weeks, wish us luck!!

Merry Christmas! We can't complain about this season's weather so far, it's been gorgeous! Business has been great as well, we're 100% booked for January and almost the same for Feb! We are getting started on renovating the cottage next door for another unit as well. Going to be a busy 2015!!

Wow. Very interesting summer running the property. Most guests have been staying for more than two weeks, some up to six! Winter reservations are going gangbusters. We're about 90 percent booked for the two large apartments. Not so much for the small one, but that's not surprising since it's less suited for long term rentals, hopefully the shorter term guests will start asking about that one soon. All in all it's been a lot of work and a lot of learning but we're having fun! Considering a remodel of the little building next door that we bought...can I really handle another major makeover job?!!

LOL just had an inquiry from an overseas client. I quoted her 11 days for about $1550. She's very interested. Then wants to confirm that price is in Argentinian pesos! The exchange rate is 8 to 1! Nope, sorry lady you don't get a week for two hundred bucks!!
