This may not look like training but it is! Its so important to us that our animals trust and like hanging out with people! We also like the goats to know to follow us when we shake a food bucket so we can move them around the ranch as a herd 🐐

Many of our horses are barefoot but some need shoes to be comfortable. Waylon is one of those because he has a club foot. Keeping the shoe on him is a whole different matter!

Meet Cassie (Cassiopeia)

She is an 18-year-old thoroughbred / quarter horse cross who came to us about a year ago. In her previous life, she was a high-level jumper, clearing jumps up to 5 feet high! As she got older, she couldn't stay comfortable jumping that high, and the barn didn't think she was suitable to do lessons, so the owner decided to put her down! Thankfully a friend of the ranch stepped in and took on Cassie, caring for her for a few years before she came to us.

Cassie is now one of the stars of our program. She is cuddly and sweet and especially loves doing "horse kiss" paintings by eating apples. She sometimes likes to walk quickly, so she helps teach our campers how to regulate their energy and slow her down. We are so glad she's a member of our herd!

Abby is doing great so far with her current condition as of now. We're so excited and happy to see so much support, especially in the past few days. She's still on the mend and working through things - We love and thank you so much for all of your help ♥️
