Just a little heads-up that I'll be out of the office for a good chunk of the next two weeks. And yes, I'm going to be in Orlando again.

I'll be at WizardCon, my agency's annual conference, October 15–18, and I'm really looking forward to it. There will be classroom sessions, professional development, time with other Wizards, and plenty of opportunities to learn more about the destinations and products I spend so much time helping my clients plan!

We'll also be doing a ship inspection of the Disney Wish. I've been on the Wish before, but there's a big difference between sailing on a ship and getting to really look around with my travel-advisor hat on! I'm looking forward to getting another look at everything and bringing that firsthand knowledge back to my clients.

And then I'm sticking around Orlando for a few more days because, well...I'm already there. 😂

I'll be doing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Halloween Horror Nights over at Universal Orlando, and four days at Walt Disney World where I’ll be checking into a resort I’ve visited before, but never actually stayed at!

So basically, I'll be mixing a little work with a little bit of Disney and Halloween, which seems like a pretty good way to spend a couple of weeks to me.

I'll be out of the office October 14–24, but I'll still be checking in and working when I can. Response times may be a little slower than usual, so I appreciate your patience!

And of course, I'll be sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes stuff while I'm there, so if you've ever wondered what a travel advisor actually does when they're not sitting at their computer planning trips, you'll get to see some of it. Follow my stories and posts for it all!

I've decided we're going to talk about Disney Cruise Line a little more around here because it's one of my FAVORITE ways to Disney.

I don't book nearly as many Disney cruises as I do Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando trips, and I think that's partly because a lot of people don't realize just how much Disney Cruise Line has to offer. If you've never cruised before, there are quite a few things about the experience that aren't immediately obvious when you're used to thinking about Disney as theme parks, resorts and trying to make it to your Lightning Lane before the window closes.

I've sailed with Disney Cruise Line myself a few times, and I really enjoy the fact that it's a completely different way to do a Disney vacation. You still get the characters, the food, the entertainment and all those little Disney touches, but it's also very laid back and you can also spend an afternoon sitting on deck watching the ocean roll by with absolutely nowhere you need to be.

That's a pretty magical way to spend a vacation!

So I'm starting a little Disney Cruise Line 101 series. Some of it will be basic cruise information for people who have never cruised before, and some of it will be the little Disney-specific things that make the experience what it is.

If cruising has never really been on your radar, stick around - you might just discover that there's a whole other way to get your Disney fix...and it doesn't require rope drop. ✨

DISNEY JUST DROPPED A WHOLE LOT OF NEW DETAILS ABOUT THEIR NEXT SHIP, DISNEY BELIEVE!

The newest ship in the fleet sets sail December 18, 2027 and its home port will be...Port Everglades! 4- and 5-night Caribbean and Bahamas sailings will be available. And Disney is bringing some seriously fun new things onboard:

🎶 JUST BOOKED! 🎶

My returning clients are ringing in the New Year the Disney way! They’re heading to Walt Disney World for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, with a stay at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, 3-day Park Hopper tickets, and Memory Maker ready to capture all those vacation moments. Christmas lights, park-hopping, and a little New Year’s sparkle? Sounds like a pretty magical way to end 2026 to me.

And their home base is ready to keep the good vibes going. If you've been to Walt Disney World enough times that you don't need a map anymore, maybe it's time to try Disneyland Resort.

Not instead of Walt Disney World. I'm not suggesting anything crazy here! Just as something different.

Because there's something fun about going somewhere Disney-related where you don't already have the whole day mapped out in your head.

You recognize some of the rides, but they're not always the same. You know what Lightning Lane is, but you may use it differently. You know how Disney transportation works, but Disneyland doesn't work quite like Walt Disney World. You know how to plan a Disney vacation, but some of the things you've gotten used to planning months ahead aren't part of the Disneyland experience in the same way.

And then there are all the little things you wouldn't know unless you've been. Like what it feels like to walk in the steps of Walt Disney himself. The original park. The one he dreamed up and watched come to life. The castle may be smaller, but the history is enormous. And if you pay attention, you can still feel a little bit of that old-fashioned Disney wonder tucked into the corners. That's the part I'm interested in.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the Walt Disney World people who have never made the trip to Disneyland Resort.

There is a LOT I want to tell you. 😂

Okay, I have a Disney confession: I really like going by myself.

I know that probably sounds strange to some people. Disney is usually talked about as a family trip, a couples trip, a girls' trip, a friends' trip...but there is something I genuinely love about having a Disney day that is completely mine.

I can decide what park I'm going to, what I'm eating, what I'm riding, when I'm taking a break, and when I'm calling it a day. If I change my mind halfway through the afternoon? No group discussion required.

And I think more people would enjoy a solo Disney trip than they realize. Not because traveling with other people isn't great, but because sometimes waiting for everyone else's schedules, budgets, interests and availability means you end up waiting forever to take the trip you actually want. If you want to go...you should just go!

I'm going to have a few solo nights on my next Disney trip, so I have a feeling I'm going to be talking about this a little more.

When it comes to booking a cruise, most people think they need to decide everything right away.

You actually only need a few things to get started.

First comes the ship, itinerary, and sail date. That locks in pricing and availability. Next comes the cabin choice - this is where comfort and budget meet. We'll then get that deposit paid and get you booked!

After that, everything else can wait. Dining preferences, excursions, and onboard activities are handled much closer to sailing.

Cruise planning works best when decisions happen in the right order. Trying to plan everything at once is what makes it feel harder than it needs to be.

I realized recently that I don't think I talk about me very much on this page.

You see the Disney trips, Universal posts, cruise content, travel tips and occasional vacation photos, but there's a person behind all of that who genuinely loves talking about where people are going and why they're going there.

I've been a travel advisor since 2022, and I still get excited when someone tells me they've decided to take a trip they've been talking about forever. I like the research, I like finding the little details that make a trip work and I especially like that every client can want something completely different.

A family Disney trip, a friends' cruise, a couple who wants to celebrate an anniversary. They're all different, and that's what keeps this job interesting for me.

So if you've been following along for a while, thank you. And if you're new here, hi. I'm glad you found me. Now tell me something: what's the trip you've been thinking about lately?
