This is a portrait of the Hettinger children, taken around 1892 in Russia. The three eldest children in the photograph, Jacob, Mary and George, were the only ones among their siblings to survive to adulthood. Between 1906-1907, the the three siblings and their spouses all immigrated to the United States. They all first settled in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and worked as sugar beet laborers. By 1920, Mary and her husband, along with their seven children, had settled in Windsor working on a sugar beet farm. Jacob and his wife were living near Severance with their six children.
Photograph is from the Town of Windsor Museum Permanent Collection.

Just a friendly reminder: those speedy class 3 e-bikes and off highway vehicles are a no-go in our parks and on our trails.

Why? Because we like our trails like we like our picnics — peaceful, safe and without anyone zooming past at 28 mph. 😅

This policy helps ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for walkers, runners, families and cyclists using non-motorized bikes.

In June 1968, the Eastman Kodak Company annouced that Windsor would become home to its brand-new manufacturing facility. A few years later, on Aug. 10, 1971, the Kodak Colorado Division manufactured its first product, a roll of phototypesetting paper. A little over a week later, the first shipment of the product was sent out. To celebrate, the company held a ceremony attendent by the governor of Colorado, John A. Love, and Kodak executives from Rochester, New York.
