September 21 is the one day of the year when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind plays “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire ALL. DAY. LONG.

Normally, you don’t know which of the attraction’s six songs you’re going to get. But today? No guessing. No hoping. No “please let it be September!”

It’s September. Every. Single. Ride. 😂

Yes! Guests are allowed to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverages into the Disney parks—which can be a huge money-saver, especially for families.

A few things to know:

🥪 Pack your own meals & snacks
Sandwiches, fruit, granola bars, crackers, etc. are great options for keeping everyone fueled throughout the day.

💧 Bring your own drinks
Nonalcoholic beverages are allowed.

🧊 Coolers are allowed—with restrictions
Coolers and insulated bags can be brought in, but they can’t be larger than 24” x 15” x 18”. Loose or dry ice isn’t permitted; reusable ice packs are ok.

🍴 No glass containers
Glass containers aren’t permitted, with limited exceptions such as baby food jars.

🚫 Leave the alcohol at home
Alcoholic beverages aren’t permitted to be brought into the parks.

Bring breakfast items, snacks, and plenty of water, then enjoy one or two Disney meals during the day. You get the best of both worlds—you save some money without missing out on the Disney food experience!

If you’re staying at a Disney resort, you can also have groceries delivered to your resort and stock up before heading to the parks!

Not necessarily! You can absolutely do Disney World without making a bunch of dining reservations. It really depends on how you like to vacation. Every family is different!

I’d recommend reservations for:
⭐ Character dining — Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Topolino’s, etc.
🍷 Popular/specialty restaurants — Space 220, Oga’s Cantina, California Grill, etc.
🎉 A must-do restaurant that would disappoint you to miss
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Larger groups, where walking up can be much harder

You can skip reservations if you’re happy with:
🍔 Quick-service restaurants
📱 Mobile ordering
🥨 Snacks throughout the day
😋 Eating when you’re hungry rather than around a set schedule
❓ Trying restaurants based on what’s available that day

Disney has a ton of quick-service options, so you won’t go hungry without reservations.

If you change your mind while you’re there, same-day availability sometimes pops up, especially if you’re willing to eat at off-peak times. There are also several restaurants with wait lists that you can add yourself to.

You can make dining reservations 60 days before you travel. Bonus—I can make them for you! That means it’s me who is up at 5am, not you 😉

You don’t need Lightning Lane to have a great Disney vacation! 😊 You can absolutely visit the parks without it.

That said, I do recommend it for most families, especially if there are certain popular attractions you really want to experience. Lightning Lane can save you a lot of time waiting in standby lines, which means more time enjoying the parks, eating, exploring, and relaxing.

Whether it’s worth it really depends on your family, your priorities, and how much you want to maximize your park time. That’s one of the things I can help you figure out when planning your trip! ✨🏰
