🐢 Turtles!

Guests often ask me for recommendations at different cruise ports. Obviously, I haven’t traveled the entire world (yet 😂), but one of the great things about being a travel advisor is having a network of friends and fellow agents in our agency who travel a LOT too. Between all of us, we’ve seen quite a bit!

A friend of mine just sailed on a Celebrity cruise for a mother/daughter trip, and I was obsessed with her pictures from Grand Cayman. She spent the day at the Cayman Turtle Centre, and I immediately added this one to my list!

If you love sea turtles and animal rehabilitation, this needs to be on your must-do list. 🐢

They snorkeled in the lagoon with sea turtles swimming around them, pet the teenage turtles, relaxed in the island’s largest freshwater pool, held birds in the aviary, and grabbed a drink at the restaurant overlooking the lagoon.

Their breeding program has successfully released 37,000 green sea turtles back into the ocean — and because of this they are no longer on the endangered list!

This is exactly why I love getting recommendations from people I know and trust. I may not have personally visited every port yet, but chances are I know someone who has!

🎃 Halloween Horror Nights! 👻

Last night, I headed to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando with a friend, while my son explored with a few buddies. Was letting him stay out that late on a school night my best parenting decision? Probably not. 😂 But sometimes you have to take advantage of living so close!

If you’ve never been, Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed nighttime event at Universal Studios featuring incredibly detailed haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, themed food, and LOTS of scares. Some houses are based on popular horror movies and shows, while others are original Universal stories.

My biggest recommendation: get the Express Pass! House lines can get LONG, and Express makes it much easier to experience more in one night and to have time to take everything in.

One of my favorite parts is sitting in the scare zones and watching the actors work. They’re SO good at identifying easy targets. 😂 Watching them sneak up on people and seeing the reactions is hilarious. My friend even ran into an actor she knew. She stayed in character perfectly but it was fun to see her in action.

🎃 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! 🎃

This special ticketed event runs throughout the Halloween season at Magic Kingdom and is so much fun!

Your party ticket allows you to enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4 PM, with the actual party running from 7 PM until midnight. During the event, you can experience special Halloween entertainment including Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, character dance parties, trick-or-treating throughout the park, specialty food items, and some fun character meet-and-greets you don’t normally see!

And of course, the rides are open with much lower wait times — which is always one of our favorite parts!

A little Saturday night fun at Magic Kingdom with one of my boys. ❤️🏰

We checked out all the Halloween decorations, rode a few rides and wandered around the park for a few hours. 🎃

And, of course, I took LOTS of pictures of the castle. 😂 Different angles, different lighting…I apparently needed them all. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️No matter how many times I see it, I still love it!

Anyone else like me and still take another castle picture every single time you’re there? 😂🏰

Two years ago, I went to Jamaica for the first time. I expected to see beautiful beaches and explore three Sandals resorts. I didn’t expect to fall in love with a country. 🇯🇲

But I did.

Jamaica is beautiful - the water, the beaches, the mountain. However, it was the people that stayed with me. There is a warmth about Jamaica that is difficult to explain until you experience it. I left that first trip knowing I would be back, and I have been fortunate to return three more times since.

When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, it felt different watching the devastation. This wasn’t just somewhere I had traveled. It was a place I had grown to truly care about.

I returned in December 2025, just months after the hurricane, for the reopening of Sandals Dunn’s River. I will never forget how excited the people were to see travelers returning. They welcomed us with smiles, hugs and so much gratitude.

And yet, THEY were the ones who had just been through a hurricane. They were the ones rebuilding homes, communities and lives.

That stayed with me.

I wear a bracelet every single day that says “Jamaica.” It may seem like such a little thing, but for me it is a reminder of a country that unexpectedly found a place in my heart and of the people who make it so special.

The three Sandals resorts hit the hardest by Hurricane Melissa were Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals South Coast (a resort that is special to me) and Sandals Caribbean Cay (previously Sandals Royal Caribbean). These resorts are being rebuilt better than before and are already booking guests in anticipation of their reopenings. I can’t wait to return and see even more of the transformation in this country.
