Endorsed by the Colorado Trail Foundation. What is Supported Hiking on the Colorado Trail? All of your camping and personal gear are carried for you on this progressive five-day hike. This leaves you with a light load (day pack with water, lunch and rain gear) to hike with each day. Yes, we take care of the heavy loads!! The staff driven support trucks go to locations close to the Colorado Trail w

here a deluxe camp is set up. Your only concern is to have a GREAT TIME hiking each day. You will need to set up your own personal tent, but after that is completed, you can take a hot shower, enjoy delicious appetizers in the spacious community tent, relax, and feast on your guide-prepared gourmet evening meal. In the morning, while you're taking down your tent and packing your gear, we are preparing a wholesome, hearty and satisfying breakfast for you. A variety of fresh lunch items and snacks are put out everyday prior to hiking so you can self-design whatever you want to take with you to eat while hiking. Over 70% of our clients return for another trek and bring friends, too. This is not only a vacation but it's an adventure - come join us!

Maybe once or twice.

When on the trail, it’s important to keep track of your time and distance. Remember, your hike doesn’t end when you reach the viewpoint, waterfall, or the perfect selfie spot. Your total hike time includes the trip there and the trip back to where you started (Yes, your car is still waiting for you… unless a marmot chewed through the underside, figured out how to hot-wire it, and drove off into the sunset. At that point, you have a completely different problem. Thank you.).

Also, beware the phrase “we’re almost there.” It has launched many a tired hiker into the dangerous territory of “just a little farther…” followed by another mile, another hill, and questionable life choices. If any part of your hike is uphill, going either direction, plan for it to take at least twice as long as the downhill portion. Gravity is generous on the way down and keeps the receipts for the way back up.

We’re almost there…with the end of this post. Finally, pay attention to when you start and set a turnaround time before heading out. If your hike is taking longer than expected, stick to your plan and turn around. The view will still be there another day. The marmot will pick you up at sunrise.

🐹 MARMOT FUN FACT! 🏔️

Did you know marmots can spend up to 8 months a year hibernating?

These chunky alpine residents spend all summer eating and storing fat before retreating to their underground burrows for a long winter nap. They often live in family colonies and communicate with loud whistles—earning them the nickname "whistle pigs!"

If you've hiked in Colorado's high country, you've probably heard one before you saw it.

What's your favorite trail animal to spot in the mountains?

🚽🏔️ Let's talk about the best bathroom views in Colorado...

One of the perks of Trekking? Your bathroom might have a million-dollar mountain view.

Nothing says "immersed in nature" quite like finding the perfect rock, admiring the mountains, and realizing this may be the most scenic bathroom break of your life.

Of course, we always follow Leave No Trace principles and teach our guests how to responsibly "go" in the backcountry. 🌲

What's the most scenic bathroom break you've ever taken on the trail? Can anyone name the bathroom views from the two pictures?? Both taken while on a CME trip.

🥪🌲 Happy International Picnic Day! 🌲🥪

Sure, picnics are great at the park but they're even better with a mountain view.

One of our favorite trail traditions is finding the perfect spot to stop, unpack lunch, and soak in the scenery. Whether it's beside an alpine lake, on a high mountain pass, or overlooking a valley filled with wildflowers, every meal tastes better outdoors.

Where's the best place you've ever had a picnic?
