Since 1923, WeHaKee Camp for Girls has been a summer home to girls of all faiths and backgrounds. In addition to girls from throughout the United States, we have campers attend from nations such as France, Russia, Mexico, Japan, Guatemala, Canada, Spain and Colombia. It is a diverse and welcoming environment where girls develop lifelong friendships with girls near and far! To create their own indi

vidualized program, WeHaKee campers choose from nearly 40 activities including horseback riding, water skiing & wake boarding, gymnastics, sailing & wind surfing, tennis, painting & pottery, swimming, camping & canoe trips, music, dance & drama, soccer & volleyball, photography, archery, arts & crafts, basketball, newspaper, biking and much more.

We have another round of staff intros!!! You may recognize some familiar faces in this round. We love seeing our Junior Counselors become counselors as well as seeing returning staff, and of course welcoming new staff! 😁

Siobhan: “I love to Irish dance, sing, stargaze, make s’mores, play volleyball, waterski, and try new things. Fun fact about me is I have two sets of twins in my family.”

Ruthie: “I love swimming more than anything, other things I enjoy are hiking, biking, shopping and being outside. This will be my 15th year at camp and my 2nd year as a counselor.”

Marjorie: “I love hiking and exploring, but I’m also very content to curl up with a comic book or to crotchet. One fun fact about me is that i have lived in over seven states!”

Jennifer: “I’m an art conservation student, and of course I love the history and the art, also I like the dogs and to travel. I’m so excited to meet everyone ❤️‍🩹”

Today is round 4 of staff introductions!!! You may see some familiar faces in this round 😁 So excited!!!

Nita: My hobbies are reading, dancing, trying out new experiences, travelling and going to pretty cafes. I love everything related to the arts and meeting new people. I love animals with my whole heart, and cats have a special place in it

Sofia: Fun facts about me: If I could be any animal, I would ALWAYS be a cat 🐈‍⬛ If I had a superpower, it would be teleportation 🫨

Maddie: I love to sing and make music, hang out with friends, and play sports like ice hockey or softball. This will be my 6th year at camp but my first as a counselor.

Skyler: In my free time I enjoy cooking, listening to music, and playing with my dogs. I can’t wait to meet you all this summer!

Welcome back to round 3 of staff introductions!! 💗 We’re so excited for this years staff 🥰

Lily: I graduated this past May with a degree in Outdoor Recreational Therapy and have been all over the place traveling and working recently. I am currently a school nurse and softball coach.

Mar: My 3 favorite things are cats, coffee and the beach. Currently my favorite hobbie is going to the gym. 🏋‍♀️✨️

Ala: I enjoy listening to music and going to concerts. I also like sports and traveling.
This will be my first time as counselor at the camp and also my first time in USA!

Hannah: I love crocheting, spending time with friends, and learning new things! Right now, I am studying Sociology with a Social Work concentration.

Welcome back to round 2 of staff introductions 🤩

Sinead: “I love to dance and go to Pilates with my friends. I’m usually not at home at lot, as I’m always travelling. I love to listen to music and have been waiting for Harry Styles’ new album for months 🙈.”

Valeria: “I’m a languages student from Mexico, I can speak Spanish, English and little bit of German. I really enjoy travelling, swimming, embroidering and spending time with my dogs”

Laura: “I love dancing, horse riding and crafts. I’m currently studying psychology which I also love. I love animals especially dogs and horses”

Belem: “I’m very excited to come back and see you all again. I study international trade 🌎, I like to travel, I love sunsets, biking afternoons and spending time with my friends”

Exciting news!!! This week we’re starting our staff introductions 🤩 Make sure you’re following us to learn all about our staff for this summer!

Maggie: “A little about me, I love valley time; I am excited to teach water aerobics, and I love to birdwatch”

Bob: “In my pre-camp life, I was a high school band director (trombone is my instrument!) and an elementary school counselor. I enjoy baseball, listening to and playing jazz, running, stand-up paddling, bicycling, and walking along the shore of Lake Michigan.”

Ana Gaby: “I live in Mexico City and have been working full time at camp for 2 years now, but I was presviously a camper and seasonal staff member as well so this will be my 16th summer at camp!”

Today we celebrate the incredible achievements of women and the progress that has been made while we continue the journey towards equality for everyone. The WeHaKee Welcome Tour is making a stop in San Diego next week and we would love to see you there! A wonderful WeHaKee family in Loma Portal has generously offered to host this fun and casual open house, so come hang out with us and don’t forget to bring a friend that might be interested in coming to camp this summer 🏕️🙌🏼
