A nightmare!

Good morning all! I felt compelled to put this post out because of total frustration with Jet Blue. I booked my son and family on flight B545 out of Islip yesterday for 1:51pm departure to West Palm. They had been traveling in Europe for 3 weeks visiting family and come to us to spend a few days in NY with the family. Fun celebrating and enjoying time all together. They left at 11AM. Plenty of time. With the 2 babies age 3 and 22 months. And mom on crutches because she broke her foot in Belgrade. By 6PM still had not taken off. Jet Blue maintained mechanical problems and flight not cancelled. Offered no water or snacks or comforting options. They could not even get to a gate agent for help because tensions got very hot. Ryan said police were even called. At 6:30 got on plane and then told to get off. Finally at about 7:40 told to come back this morning flight new departure 8AM. But take everything. No offer for hotel meal option nothing. So crutches babies and little family makes their way to baggage and Sid makes his way back to Islip to bring them back to Woodbury. Got home around 9:15PM. Long day! Ya think. Then 5:45AM back to Islip. They took off and should land in about 40 minutes. As a travel advisor I felt at such a loss trying to help them. 4 seats last minute at 6Pm offered no opportunities and other flights early today no availability unless paying hundreds. Just not a good situation. We’re at the mercy of Jet Blue. Those kids were miserable. I guess no hotel because flight not officially cancelled. Finally spoke with someone at Jet blue to verify flight would take off this morning and told me to save taxi or hotel receipt. Just not good. Am I wrong to be totally pi**ed at Jet Blue? I don’t think so. Thought it would have been easier than going to La Guardia. What should have been easy was a nightmare. And now they don’t have Jet blue numbers so how can we fight for some kind of compensation? A refund for a taxi? Just doesn’t seem like enough. Any great advice out there????? .
