If you like hotels that feel like a private estate, keep reading.

Octant Vila Monte sits in the eastern Algarve near the small town of Moncarapacho, far from the beach club scene and oversized coastal resorts. No grand entrances. No DJ sets. Just low whitewashed buildings, terracotta paths, citrus trees, and open countryside.

The restaurant alone is worth planning around. Razor clams, Algarve octopus, regional wines, and long outdoor dinners.

Pro tip: start with a slow pool morning, then boat into Ria Formosa Natural Park. You’ll step onto wide, uncrowded barrier islands instead of competing for towel space.

This is the Portugal most travelers don’t realize exists. And that’s exactly why I love it. Get in touch to learn more.

Matera is one of the most memorable places I send clients in Italy, especially when they stay somewhere like this.

Vetera Matera is set directly inside the Sassi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Some of the caves you’re sleeping in were carved thousands of years ago. This isn’t a hotel near the history, it is the history.

One of my favorite experiences: early mornings in the Sassi before day visitors arrive, when the streets are at their quietest. That’s when I recommend heading out with a private guide who can bring real context to what you’re seeing.

Evenings can include dinner reservations in cave restaurants like Regiacorte or Vitantonio Lombardo, local Aglianico in your glass, and views across the ravine toward the illuminated cave dwellings of the Sassi Barisano.

Not every trip needs to be fast.

Some places slow your breathing without you even realizing it.
Salt air. Mountain air. Desert air. Wide horizons and fewer notifications.

These are the destinations that recalibrate you. It’s not about doing more. It’s about feeling different when you get home.

If you’re overdue for a reset, let's talk about where that might be.

London is incredible. It’s also enormous. Where you stay determines how it feels.

Hotel Café Royal has been hosting London society since the 1800s: Oscar Wilde, David Bowie, and Princess Diana. That history is still there, especially downstairs in the Oscar Wilde Bar with its perfectly mixed martinis.

You’re on Regent Street but insulated from the chaos. Soho for dinner. Mayfair for shopping. West End theaters are a short walk away. You can do three neighborhoods in one afternoon without calling a car.

The rooms? Properly soundproof, which seasoned London travelers appreciate. And don’t skip the Akasha wellness level. The pool is underground, and the hammam feels like something you’d expect in Istanbul, not central London.

If London is on your radar, this is a smart address to start with. Let’s start planning!

Travel isn’t just about where you sleep. Sometimes the journey is the reason you go.

If New Zealand is on your list, here’s the experience to build around: Fiordland Jewel.

This nine-cabin luxury catamaran explores Milford Sound and the wider Fiordland coastline in a way day boats simply can’t. She hugs the cliffs. Glides past waterfalls.

By day: kayak beneath towering rock walls, take the tender into hidden inlets, and watch for fur seals, Fiordland crested penguins, blue ducks, bottlenose dolphins, and even humpback whales in season.

By night: glass of New Zealand wine in hand, mist rolling across the fjord, waterfalls in the distance.

If you’re traveling all the way to the South Island, this is how you do Fiordland properly. Message me to start planning.

Three islands. Three completely different moods. All trending.

If you keep hearing about the Balearic Islands, it’s not random.

Mallorca is packed with new boutique hotel openings and serious culinary talent. Menorca remains low-key but impossibly photogenic. Ibiza has quietly evolved into a wellness-meets-design destination beyond the beach clubs.

Fun fact: in 2026, the islands sit directly under a total solar eclipse. A pretty dramatic way to see the Med.

There’s something about travel when everything is in bloom.

Cherry blossoms in Kyoto. Tulip fields outside Amsterdam in full color. Lavender beginning to wake up in Provence. Bougainvillea spilling over white walls in Santorini.

It’s the season when destinations feel awake again. If the spring season speaks to you, we should talk.

Destinations you might not have heard of: Adelboden, Switzerland.

Where I’d have you stay? The Brecon.

Created by London art dealer Grant Maunder, The Brecon feels more like a curated alpine home than a hotel. There are only a handful of rooms, and notably, no TVs and no background music. If you’re looking for a true digital detox, this is it. The design intentionally removes distraction, so the mountains become the main event.

In winter, you’re minutes from the Adelboden-Lenk ski area without resort chaos. In summer, hiking trails begin just outside the village, leading to high alpine meadows and panoramic ridge walks.

If that sounds like your kind of Alps, let’s start planning!

AI can give you options. A travel advisor gives you judgment.

I bring context, timing, and real-world experience into every decision. I know which hotels quietly overdeliver, which itineraries look great on paper but fall flat in reality, and how to adjust when things change mid-trip.

AI can’t call a hotel GM, rework a route because of weather, or know when a destination is having a moment (or when it’s already overdone). I can, and I do.

Technology is a tool. Expertise is the difference.

Iceland is wild. Your hotel doesn’t need to be.

The Reykjavík EDITION is one of my favorite bases for exploring Iceland without feeling remote every night.

I like this stay because it balances adventure with ease. Private guides can pick you up steps away, Northern Lights tours are easy to time, and evenings don’t require planning. Cocktails downstairs, a late dinner nearby, or straight to bed all work equally well.

After long days exploring waterfalls, glaciers, or lava fields, coming back to a calm, design-forward hotel with a great spa and strong dining feels like the right contrast.

Iceland is truly unforgettable. Let’s start planning!

When someone tells me they want an “expedition trip,” my first question is always: What does that actually mean to you?

Expedition travel isn’t one thing. The word gets used a lot, but the experiences couldn’t feel more different:

The Arctic is about scale and silence. Massive ice formations, polar wildlife, and landscapes that make you feel very small in the best way.

The Amazon is immersive and layered. Early-morning skiff rides, canopy walks, pink river dolphins, and guides who can spot wildlife you’d never see on your own.

Safari is dynamic and emotional. Game drives at first light, expert trackers reading the land, and close wildlife encounters that genuinely shift perspective.

If an expedition is on your mind, let’s talk through what kind of experience would feel most like you.
