Meet our Main Street Board Members:
We will be showcasing these dedicated individuals who help guide our organization, support local businesses, help with community events, and share a commitment to creating a vibrant and welcoming downtown.
Tim Miller - President
What inspired you to join the Main Street board? Answer: I believe in connecting communities through shared culture, activities, and a thriving, diverse local economy. The Main Street program is a great way to make a local difference toward those ends. I previously served on a Main Street board in Elizabeth, Colorado. When the call came to rebuild and grow Woodland Park's Main Street program, I saw an opportunity to help my community thrive.
What do you love most about our downtown/Main Street district? Answer: I frequently visited Woodland Park for 35 years before I landed a job and a home in the area. Woodland Park has a unique, laid back culture that reflects Rocky Mountain adventure, resilience, and hospitality, as opposed to some other high elevation towns with a highfalutin attitude. Woodland Park's essence is one of connection and authenticity. Main Street businesses reflect those qualities in their brick and mortar, as well as in their character.
How long have you lived in Teller County? Answer: Five years. During the forty-some-odd years of my life before that, Woodland Park and Teller County served as my basecamp for recreation in the sun or snow.
What makes this community worth investing your time in? This community is connected in a way that's almost indescribable to visitors and newcomers. Sure, it has a rich history worth preserving and epic environments in which to play, but the people and the community we create with one another provide a huge return on investment for any volunteer endeavor, especially Main Street.
What would you like to share about yourself? Answer: My de facto nickname in various Colorado communities has been, "The Library Guy." I love libraries and their embodiment of First Amendment American Intellectual Freedom through information services. I also love public speaking. That's thanks to the fellowship and education I've received as a member of Toastmasters Above the Clouds. I am also a dad and a husband with deep roots in Teller County.
