Congratulations to Blue Marble for their new 181,000 square foot facility expansion coming to Indianapolis!

Thanks to Danyelle Rabine for giving me permissions to post this unique carton design we worked on a few years back. This is one of my favorites for a couple reasons...

1. Great “dispenser” design with ready-to-tear, ready-to-drink tab at the bottom for easy can accessibility on airlines and cruise ships.

2. Perfect example of direct print flexo and what can be achieved with the right equipment. This is four color direct on a Kla (mottled white) liner.

3. Auto-bottom design for easy pop-up, including a full panel flap inside for extra support.

4. SFI (sustainable forestry initiative) approved. We kept this in raw form with no kemi liner or varnishes to comply with Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) SFI Certification standards.

I love working on projects that showcase all of the unique ways you can incorporate design and print into packaging! I hope you enjoyed seeing this one too.

And there’s more... when combining a matte varnish plus a spot gloss UV coating you get great contrast. These two coatings act as independent colors on press and require print plates for each coating - but the effect!! 🤩

Believing is seeing sometimes and one of the benefits of direct print flexo include the cost savings behind it. I have been hearing the disbelief in the market about the limitations with flexo printed packaging... and I just happen to have some fresh examples just off the press to prove what IS possible. 🍂🏞

Introducing our BW!! I finally grabbed some photos ‘press side’ late last week at our Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) Buckeye plant. This beauty’s been up and running for about 3 months now and is already transforming the way I think about routing projects. We are taking eCommerce to single pass, and single pass = savings!!💵🙌🏼. Printing 4 colors to the outside and 2 colors to the inside using 1 single pass is going to transform a lot of things.

In a world where kindness and ice cream exists... I can’t think of a better “thank you” to the work this particular client has given BCI for the last three years! I’ve personally enjoyed working alongside the commercialization group creating unique high graphic packaging and displays. 🙌🏽Shout-out to Graeters and the work you do to bring smiles. The ice cream catering box (shameless plug 📦 ), once again was a hit! 🍦🥳
