Central Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcome to the official page of Central Massachusetts! www.centralmass.org The CMCVB is overseen by the Officers and Executive Committee.

The Central MA Convention & Visitors Bureau (CMCVB) is dedicated to promoting the Central MA region to the general public, convention and meeting planners, and tour groups. The primary goals of the CMCVB are:
-Customer Satisfaction
-Increased Marketing Exposure
-Increased Room Nights & Visitation

The Central Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Bureau has a 25 member Board of Directors and an Executive Committee whose members are broadly related to the industry.

Did you know that Charles Thurber of East Brookfield, MA was credited with inventing an early form of typewriter known as the chirographer? The device, about the size of a small table, used keys places on a central wheel and could be rotated to imprint ink on paper. Though the device was slow and cumbersome, Thurber held several patents that were used in what became the modern typewriter.
