O my goodness, what a day. On our Stikine River Shakes Glaicer tour we always are on the lookout for wild animals. Well, today was the best EVER! Started with 30 bald eagles at Petroglyph Beach, then 50 ish Harbor Seals on the Flats, then hundreds of Merganser Ducks. Then a beautiful Brown Bear standing tall in the grass. We found an Eagle in her nest, then a very hungry Black Bear munching on grass. Then we checked on our m Mama Cow Moose and her 9 day old Calf and continue to wonder how long she will stay in her birth place. Mama has to be getting hungry. She is at the base of a huge rocky hill, which could be a challenge for her baby to hike up. Or maybe swimming lessons will begin soon. Then we found at least 6 mountain Goats. One youngin’ romping around his cliff filled home range while mom followed. We could almost hear mom yelling at the kid to be careful near the edge. On our way down river we enjoyed a Cow moose at full run on the sand dunes. She stopped to check us out before running up hill into the trees. I lost count how many animals we saw. To say it was spectacular or awesome or epic seems not enough and I am sure today will be a tough act to follow. Enjoy the pictures
