BEAUTIFUL 11 MILE JOURNEY

The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is an 11-mile, one-way gravel and dirt road through a 20,000-acre restored wetland on the north shore of Florida’s fourth-largest lake. The drive has a strict 10 mph speed limit and typically takes between 1.5 to 3 hours to complete. Visitors commonly observe large numbers of American alligators sunning along the banks or crossing the road, with over 360 recorded bird species, including herons, egrets, ospreys, and bald eagles.

The Plan:

We pull out for the Meritt Island Cruise at 9 am

95 miles of cruising the backroads through the Meritt Island Wilderness Refuge, along Mosquito Lagoon & Indian River.

We will stop at Haulover Canal to see the manatees- beautiful there!!!

Wrapping up no later than 1:30 pm at Ford’s garage… Grab a bite to eat together!
