The .Whydah dive team is still working to recover the scattered remains of the legendary Whydah shipwreck! ⚓️

Every year, the team heads offshore to the cold waters of Cape Cod, carefully searching the ocean floor for artifacts that have rested there for over 300 years. These ongoing expeditions help map the ever-changing seafloor and bring us closer to uncovering more of the Whydah’s incredible story.

Come see the remarkable artifacts already recovered and explore real pirate history at the Whydah Pirate Museum!

My last September guests will be leaving soon. Looking forward so much to returning to the cottage for October. The Cape is a very special place off season; merchants talk to you differently, like you belong there. The cottage is open for off season rentals until Jan 1st. Off season is truly the best. Walking near empty beaches soothes the soul.

November is Native American Heritage Month. The lands of Cape Cod National Seashore are the ancestral homelands of the First People, the Wampanoag. The Wampanoag have lived with these lands and waters for over 12,000 years.

Local landmarks like Nauset Marsh and Pamet River take their names from the smaller bands of the Wampanoag who made their home here. For both early Native People and their descendants who still live here, the natural world is so much more than a source of food or a pretty landscape. There is a deep spiritual relationship with the landscape, one that provides a connection to the sacred.

On whose ancestral homeland do you live?
