NYA Parents' Association The NYA Parents' Association supports and strengthens NYA and its programs, promotes school spirit & a sense of community through volunteer participation.

All parents of students enrolled at NYA are automatically members of the Parents’ Association (NYA-PA). The NYA Parents’ Association runs annual fundraisers in support of school and parent programming. Current fundraisers include running an ice cream booth at the Yarmouth Clam Festival, organizing the annual NYA Holiday Craft Fair and the Holiday Wreath and Roping Sale. Proceeds from these fundrai

sers go to fund faculty requested grants for special programming and purchases, help to pay for special social events in the school, and fund other general programming in support of NYA, its students, faculty, staff and parents. The PA also sponsors evening speakers, parent social events, ‘PA on the Prowl’ outreach program at school and sporting events, and open parent forums with the Head of School and other invited guests.

NYA Counselor Cindy Hould will be hosting a Parent Circle on February 26th with a book chat. Our book selection is, Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood by Lisa Damour, Ph.D. This is intended to be an opportunity to meet other NYA families with a casual conversation on your takeaways from the book. You do not need read to the book to come and learn.

The Parent Circle will be offered in person on Wednesday, February 26 from 8:00-8:45 a.m. in the Middle School Community Room and again virtually that same day from 12:00-12:30 p.m. Check division newsletters for meeting info.

Located in Yarmouth, Maine, North Yarmouth Academy is a coeducational college preparatory school for toddlers to students in grade 12 with an enrollment of 370. NYA offers Montessori methods through kindergarten. With a rink on campus, the NYA hockey program competes in the NEPSAC League.
