Some say the Frampton Plantation House still has a few residents who never left…

Legend tells of a gentleman who sits quietly in a rocking chair by the parlor fireplace, while a woman stands nearby, offering silent comfort as the night settles in.

Whether they’re memories made visible or spirits lingering from another time, no one can quite say. But on Halloween, their presence feels just a little closer.

Happy Halloween from the Frampton Plantation House, where the past never truly rests.

Have you ever spotted a tree shimmering with blue glass bottles and wondered why?

The tradition of the Blue Bottle Tree traces back centuries to West Africa, where people believed bottles could trap wandering spirits. As the legend goes, the spirits would be drawn to the sparkling colors, enter the bottles, and become stuck and be banished by the morning sun.

Over time, this beautiful bit of folklore took root across the South, blending artistry, protection, and a touch of magic into one vibrant tradition.

Next time you see those bottles glinting in the sunlight, remember—they’re not just decoration, they’re part of a story that’s still alive today.
