The talent in this group is unmatched!

Temple guard is a youth drill team and mentorship program where students from kindergarten through high school can find structure, confidence, and a place to belong. The program’s director, Mike Smith, says that the goal of the program is to meet kids where they are— helping to open doors to new opportunities, teach self-respect, make positive decisions, and set meaningful goals.

The students also learn military style marching and Drumline performing skills to practice, focus, teamwork, and discipline…and they’re insanely great at it as you can tell!

Take a boat ride on the Susquehanna and learn about the river’s Native American history on Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend! Susquehanna National Heritage Area (SNHA) offers special themed boat tours aboard a 114-year-old electric powered wooden yacht named the Chief Uncas during their 2026 River Discovery Boat Tour season.

On the 1-hour Native Peoples’ tour offered Saturday October 10 and Sunday October 11, passengers will learn about the Native American tribes who lived along the Susquehanna river in York and Lancaster county and their lasting legacy.
