Did you know? The tower atop Brasstown Bald was formerly a fire lookout tower. While it is no longer used for that purpose, we’re still committed to protecting these beautiful mountains.

With ongoing dry conditions, wildfire danger is high in many areas of North Georgia. Stay safe with these fire safety tips:

🔥Follow any local regulations and guidance - don't burn if there is a ban in place.

🔥Choose a safe burning site, like a fire ring at your campsite.

🔥 Remain with your fire until it is out. To ensure your fire is completely out, douse the coals with water, and then fold the embers into the soil and drown the coals again. If there’s snow on the ground, you can use that to put the fire out.

Let’s protect our beautiful mountains!

While we're still about a month out from seeing any real Spring growth here in Georgia, we can't help but get excited on these warmer days. Anyone else think Spring makes a great case for being the best season? We love all the leaves growing back in, flowers popping up everywhere, and those wonderful sunny days before it gets too hot. Sure, you may have to deal with a few more sneezes here and there. But we'd argue the trade-offs are worth it 😅
