A celebration is never complete without ice cream! 🍦 Mahoning Valley Historical Society is dedicating a whole day to the delicious treat. Sunday, July 20 is National Ice Cream Day, and MVHS is offering a fun filled day with free admission from 12-4 pm at Tyler History Center. Visitors will enjoy the nostalgic vocals of Exhibit A barbershop quartet, a sweet treats tour including information about Good Humor and its founder, Harry Burt, and the opportunity to make ice cream in the same building that created the famous ice cream sucker!

Mill Creek MetroParks presents Bug Day this Saturday, July 19 from 11am-3pm at Ford Nature Center! 🦋🐛🐞This free, family-friendly event promises a captivating day of insect-inspired fun and education for visitors of all ages. Meet “The BugMan,” Mark Berman from Columbus, as he demonstrates his one-of-a-kind bug expertise. There will be live bug exhibits, hands-on activities, and bug-themed crafts. Limited, free parking is available on-site and at Pioneer Pavilion.

The Butler Institute of American Art is honoring Kim Novak with an exhibition of her paintings from the permanent collection. Kim is receiving the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award at the Venice Film Festival. The exhibition, Kim Novak: Tribute on the Occasion of Her Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award, will be on view July 20-November 23, 2025 in Giffuni Gallery. The Butler has reprinted Kim Novak’s book, Her Art and Life, which is on sale in the Museum Store.
