Once upon a time in Yuma, three women looked around and thought, “This town has some seriously wild history—why aren’t more people talking about it?” So, instead of just grumbling over coffee, they did something about it. One was a 7th-generation Yuman, basically a walking encyclopedia of the town’s past, raised on stories of gunfights, riverboats, and notorious outlaws. She also happened to be the former director of a beloved local history museum, where she created renowned programs and events that made history so engaging people actually put their phones down to listen (a true feat in the 21st century). Another was a seasoned middle-school history teacher, straight from the trenches—someone with a knack for turning history into an experience, the kind of person who could make a walking tour feel like stepping into a time machine. And then there was the youngest of the trio, a tech wiz and a passionate history lover who had just returned to Yuma, determined to help preserve its past before it got buried under modern-day Starbucks receipts. With their powers combined, they created Yuma Uncovered, a tour company designed to bring Yuma’s fascinating, gritty, and sometimes downright unbelievable history to life. No dusty textbooks here—just immersive walking tours, interactive talks, lively events, and even kids’ camps (because why should adults have all the fun?). If you've ever wanted to hear about the gunfights, outlaws, scandals, and secrets that make Yuma the historical goldmine it is today, you're in the right place. We’re here to make history so interesting that even your teenager might put down their phone.
