Shakhi Zinda Necropolis, it stands as a living archive of Islamic history and Timurid architecture.

This sacred place is linked to Qusam ibn Abbas (R.A.), cousin of the 'Leader of the Universe', the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.V.) and son of Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (R.A.).

He is described in Islamic tradition as a devoted believer who carried the message of Islam beyond Arabia into Central Asia. It is believed he was martyred in Samarkand, and his memory is honored here to this day.

The three surrounding madrasahs—Ulugh Beg, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori—were built between the 15th and 17th centuries and represent masterpieces of Islamic architecture.
