We occasionally sponsor retreats with local talent and if you are interested in visiting St. Croix and would like to participate in one of our retreats while you are here, be sure to contact us. Our retreats can include such disciplines as fitness, health and wellness programs, adventure vacations, the arts, or anything e

lse you can think of. We also work with experts here and abroad who want to sponsor their own retreats. Croix has much to offer and many locations to choose from. Whether you are an experienced retreat leader or considering leading your first retreat, we will be with you every step of the way. You tell us what your program consists of and we will locate the perfect venue and schedule excursions, activities, transportation, food service and everything else, to keep your guests entertained and happy.

Temporary housing available.

Refugees from St. Thomas and St. John are welcome to seek temporary refuge at Five O'Clock on the Hill. Janet and I will provide food, water, and shelter for as many people as we can. Our home, like so many others, received incredible damage from Hurricane Hugo in 1989.

We did not own Five O'Clock on the Hill at that time but the previous owner had purchased his dream home in 1987. Two years later, James Butler was faced with having to give up and go back to Massachusetts or to stay and re-build. Lucky for us, Mr. Butler decided to re-build.

Five O'Clock on the Hill became our home in 2014 when we purchased it from Mr. Butler's estate. Three years later with Hurricane Irma headed in our direction, I couldn't help but think that I might be faced with the same decision that Mr. Butler had faced in 1989.

Fortunately we, and the island of St. Croix, were spared this time but our sister islands of St. John and St. Thomas were not.

If you know of anyone coming from St. John or St. Thomas needing temporary shelter please contact us via Facebook Messenger.

has been ferrying supplies to St. Thomas and returning with passengers and there may be more boats doing the same. If anyone has any information about how refugees can get passage to St. Croix please post their contact info here.

What's your view of the eclipse??? Will it memorable?

Don't bother taking pictures or video of the eclipse directly... leave that to the pros. Instead, set your video camera up on your favorite scene before the eclipse begins and just let it run until the eclipse is over. You will be amazed at the transformation and it surely revive your memories of where you were and what you were doing during the 2017 eclipse.

Make sure you are recording the audio as well!
