Kamabesu Villa is restored- bigger and better than ever! We tested it out for Christmas and were pleased to find plenty of space for 5 families- 24 people total!

The untold 2nd part of the Oppenheimer story that wasn't in the movie culminates on St. John.

Our dear friend, .milam wrote a perfectly succinct article in The Daily News sharing Robert Oppenheimer's family legacy on our little island. Tragic to the very end, yet, surely full of beauty as his final home on Gibney Beach, often referred to as Oppenheimer Beach, sat overlooking some of the most coveted views in the world.

Now, our family destination for decades, we rent the Oppenheimer Pavillon regularly to host family & friend gatherings. Some seem here. The tire swing, lost in 2017, was always a hit but even long gone, the gentle egress is the perfect place for young & old to get their soak on!

Some people say too much together time with family will tear you apart. After 20+ years of St. John tripping we can attest that is not the case!

It's what we call "The Fish Bowl", the new structure on the deck offering an outdoor kitchenette, living & dining area with micro screening so nary a single no-see-um is felt!
Originally meant to be temporary.
Thinking well keep it!

Situated as a Sunrise house, maximizing sun exposure on the pool deck by our genius architect Bryan Couchenour, so even in winter we have a full 8 hours of direct exposure, an island sunset still catches my breath.

And somehow, every time we stop to enjoy the view (and fruitlessly search for the green flash!), there is always a boat cruising by.
