Located on a hill at No. 4 Hung Vuong street, 3 km from Dalat city in the Northeast, Lamdong museum is the place displaying the historical objects of the locality, especially the cultural traditional objects of Lamdong province.

The museum has 9 showrooms displaying the contents like: The stages of history; the archaeological objects, the models of shelters, the tools for hunting, the traditional handicraft villages, traditional costumes, traditional festivals and the objects of the two resistance wars.
Museum as a place for cultural center; 04 stilt-houses of the Ethnic groups like Ma, K'ho, Churu will be displayed. Besides, they also show the traditional handicrafts like: pottery, weaving or organizing Buffalo-stabbing festival, Gong performance, etc. on special occasions.

Besides, tourists can directly see some sets of Dan Da (Lithophone - an ancient musical instrument) of Di Linh and B'Lao with their dates of 3,500 - 3,000 years; architecture vestiges of P'Roh (of Don Duong district) and Cat Tien (of Cat Tien district); archaeological sites excavated from the tombs of native people in Dai Lang (of Bao Lam district), Dai Lao (of Bao Loc city) and Da Don (of Lam Ha district).

The museum gathers nearly 10,000 items made from pottery, porcelain, copper and iron which are valuable in the Southeast Asia. Lamdong museum management board has been trying their best to make it more and more special.

Tiger waterfall is situated deep in the pine forests surrounding Dalat. Only 15km east of the city, these falls are easily reached but feel far more remote than they really are. Like many of the waterfalls in this list, Tiger falls was developed as a tourist site some time ago, but appears to have failed to attract many visitors and is now largely deserted. There are benches, picnic huts, toilets, and even a restaurant here, but none of them look as though they see the crowds of tourists that they were presumably built to cater for. Despite its neglect, there’s still a skeleton staff here to collect the 10,000VNĐ ($0.50) admission fee before taking the steep steps down to the base of the waterfall. There are several natural platforms of smooth rock in the river on which to sit and gaze up at the falls.

The cascade of white water is relatively gentle here because the water doesn’t drop vertically and crash on the rocks below; instead, there’s a diagonal slope over which the water slides and flows, finding its way to the base via several rivulets, including a distinctive lateral spur to the left, which gives Tiger falls a playful character. Because of its gentle flow and quiet setting, Tiger falls is the most peaceful of the waterfalls in this list: the kind of place where a romantic poet might come to compose a sonnet, while sitting in the dappled sunlight on a rock, dangling his feet in the cool water.

Pine trees and creepers grow up around the falls and the water is clean enough to have a refreshing dip in the rock pools. There’s some trash tangled in the roots at the high-water line, but, compared to other waterfalls this close to Dalat, it’s pretty tidy. At the top of the falls there’s a perilous rope bridge with broken wooden planks that it’s advisable steer clear of. Tiger waterfall was named after a small cave which is believed to have been a tiger den.

The cave entrance is on the right before the rope bridge, but the only tigers you’ll see here are weather-beaten concrete statues. Oh, and there’s a colossal sculpture of an ethnic minority hunter presiding over the site too. To reach the falls take Highway 20 east of Dalat towards Trại Mát. Take a left after about 10km (not signposted) and follow the lane into the pine forests until it comes to an end at Tiger falls.

Tây Nguyên is a plateau، bordering the lower part of Laos and northeastern Cambodia. Kon Tum Province shares a border with both Laos and Cambodia but Gia Lai Province and Đắk Lắk Province only share borders with Cambodia. Lâm Đồng Province is landlocked, and thus has no international border.

Actually, Tây Nguyên is not situated on a unique plateau, instead it lies on series of contiguous plateaus, namely Kon Tum Plateau at the height of 500 m, Kon Plông Plateau, Kon Hà Nừng Plateau, Pleiku Plateau with the height of around 800m, Mdrak Plateau of approximately 500 m, Đắk Lắk Plateau of around 800m, Mơ Nông Plateau with the height of about 800–1000 m, Lâm Viên Plateau of approximately 1500 m and Di Linh Plateau of about 900–1000 m. All of these plateau are surrounded by the high mountain ranges and mounts (South Anamite Range).

Tây Nguyên can be divided into 3 subregions according to its deviation in topography and climate, namely: North Tây Nguyên (Bắc Tây Nguyên) (inclusive of Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces), Middle Tây Nguyên (Trung Tây Nguyên) (covering provinces of Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông), South Tây Nguyên (Nam Tây Nguyên) (Lâm Đồng). Trung Tây Nguyên has lower altitude and therefore has a higher temperature from other two subregions.

At the base of Mount LangBiang is the village of the Lat ethenic minority, a local hill tribe from whom Dalat takes part of its name.There are a few hamlets known as the Lat Village.The closet, 12km north of Dalat, have seen frequent visitation and retain little authenticity,although it is possible to visit a tradional house and hear local stories from an older Lat gentleman.17 km south of Dalat is Dinh An village, also Lat (
Chicken Village).You will know,you arrived when you spot the concrete chicken statue.Bear in mind this is a poor area and the people are trying their hardest to make ends meet.

A village of the Co Ho minority people, the Lat, or "Chicken," Village is usually part of the all-day tours in the hills around Dalat. Why chicken? Well, there is an enormous cement statue of a chicken at the entry to town -- the bird has to do with a village legend (ask your guide -- I've heard about four different versions of the story, and each is a hoot). The Co Ho people are very used to the many foreign visitors who come here every day; trinket sellers are not pushy, and you are free to walk about this rustic little town at your own pace.

Than Tho Lake is located in the East of Dalat and it is 5.8 km far from the city center. In the past, the lake used to be a swamp. In 1937, the French built a dam to retain water from Cam Ly stream then they made it a lake with an area of 8.5 ha and it provides water for the entire city of Dalat.

When they realized that the place was a deserted area, the French called the lake "Lac des Soupirs".

Soupirs means the sound of wind blowing in the forests, but it also has another meaning: the sigh. The second meaning seemed to make sense than the first one, so the lake has been called the name "Lake of Sigh

Besides, there are also many stories embellished and the love story of Hoang Tung - Mai Nuong is the most popular one:

At the time of Tay Son Dynasty, Hoang Tung, a solder, took Mai Nuong to the lake side to say good bye and he said he will come back on the victory day. But the wrong news came to Mai Nuong: Tung died in a battle. Mai Nuong then got depressed and she thrown herself to the lake to die in order to keep the loyal love. In fact, he was not dead. When the Dynasty of Tay Son collapsed, Hoang Tung came back and he heard the news that his beloved had died, so he thrown himself to the lake and died. Since then, the lake has the name Than Tho, sigh. Sigh for the depressed love.

After 1975, the lake had another name: Suong Mai (Morning dew). But whenever talking about this place, the local people just called it Than Tho Lake. Therefore, since 1990, it has been officially called Than Tho Lake (the Lake of Sigh).

The first weasel coffee farm in the Central Highlands province of Lam D**g is now available for visiting purposes.

The opening of the farm is an effort to popularize the quality and trademark of Vietnamese coffee, as well as creating a new sight-seeing venue for tourists in the Central Highlands city.

The two-hectare farm, located at 135E Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Da Lat City, is raising about 120 weasels which can help produce an average of 500 kilograms of weasel coffee every year.

Visitors to the farm can see the entire process of making the coffee with the help of the domesticated animals which are under supervision of the local forest management agency.

“For every coffee crop, the weasels, a type of civet, are fed with highest quality Arabica coffee berries. The coffee beans which are relatively undigested and intact in their droppings were then collected, cleaned and processed for sale,” the farm’s owner Nguyen Minh Quoc told Vietnam News Agency.

The enzymes inside the weasels’ stomach give the undigested coffee beans more delightful taste and distinctive aroma, said local coffee experts.

“The coffee has been checked and recognized by the Pasteur Institute of Da Lat and the Nuclear Research Institute for good quality and hygiene.
