The place with the tallest and oldest lighthouse in Vietnam

Kê Gà Cape is actually a small island located about 500 meters off the mainland, traditionally known as Hòn Bà. When the tide rises, Kê Gà becomes an isolated island surrounded by water. But as the tide recedes, a natural sand path appears, connecting the cape to the mainland — a magical sight for visitors.

Atop this cape stands the Kê Gà Lighthouse, built to guide passing ships and vessels. This lighthouse has been officially recognized by the Vietnam Record Book Center as the tallest and oldest lighthouse in Vietnam — a proud historic landmark.

During the day, when the tide is high, visitors can reach the island by canoe (around 50,000 VND per person round trip). By late afternoon, when the tide lowers, you can walk across the sandy strip with water only reaching below your knees.

Entrance to visit the lighthouse is 40,000 VND per person. The site also features a spacious grassy area, ideal for overnight camping under the stars — perfect for those craving a bit of adventure mixed with tranquility by the sea.
