Learn more about the history of Vietnam War; walking on the ground of Khe Sanh where the Marines held up for 77 days against the siege of the massive forces of the NVA, touching the DMZ - a 10km no-man's-land strip known as Vietnam Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ which was the most heavily armed border and bombed piece of land on earth from 1954 - 1972, and going into the ground - Vinh Moc tunnels where the people across the DMZ lived for years under the lingering Rolling Thunder bombing operation.

Hill 601 or also known as Skull Hill is located right on Route 14, some 17 km north of Kontum. It was a strategic high ground between Dak To and Kontum to interdict the supply route of the NVA down the Ho Chi Minh trail and monitor Dak To and Kontum. That's why this position was under frequent attacks of the NVA forces especially on the 10th and the 11th of April 1972 the hill came under the fierce ground attack of the NVA. The ARVN forces called for the air support. Two fighter bombers dropped bombs and fired rockets onto the hill and killed some 1000 men of both sides, hence the name.

Vietnam plans to resume international air routes with Guangzhou (China), Seoul (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Vientiane (Laos) from September 15. The remain of all-weather-conditioned helipad of camp Catecka or the Stadium; the camp was originally established in Oct 1965 by the 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Div in order to support the relief during the the siege of SFC of Pleime in October, and one month later, the 3rd Brigade under the command of Col Tim Brown took over it as the headquarters for the search and destroy missions in Ia Drang valley in Nov 1965.
The French mansions remain standing but they are turned over to coffee & tea factories.
