Living the truth of reality is harsher and more difficult and if you have been following our page for the past few years you are probably aware that we are brutally honest and write about all the good, bad, and ugly things about the development of Phu Quoc. Clearly this makes some of you uncomfortable as most do not like to hear the truth, particularly when it comes to knocking the pedestal off of some of the older "white male" expats residing on the island and calling for their deportation in order for Phu Quoc to truly transform into paradise.

Our ethical journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. We strive to ensure the free exchange of information that is accurate, fair and thorough based on facts. Phu Quoc / China Market Grows Rapidly

China Southern became the first foreign airline to operate scheduled services to Phu Quoc in Jul-2016, when it launched three weekly services from Guangzhou. China Southern has since maintained the service on a year-round basis and earlier this year upgraded the route to daily. (A daily service was initially operated in Feb-2018 on a seasonal basis and became permanent in early Jul-2018, according to OAG schedule data.)

Lucky became the second Chinese airline to operate scheduled services to Phu Quoc in Dec-2016, when the LCC launched two weekly services from Kunming. The service operated for one year, until Dec-2017. Lucky then did not serve Phu Quoc for seven months, but it resumed a seasonal service on the Kunming-Phu Quoc route in late Jul-2018 with up to three weekly frequencies.

D**ghai Airlines also launched a twice weekly seasonal service to Phu Quoc from Shenzhen in Dec-2017. Phu Quoc was D**ghai’s first scheduled international destination, but the Shenzhen-Phu Quoc route has not been operated since May-2018, according to OAG data.

There are currently approximately 2,000 weekly one-way seats in the Phu Quoc-China market. This figure is somewhat misleading, since it does not include charters.

Vietnam Airlines, VietJet and Jetstar Pacific operate charter services from Phu Quoc to China, serving multiple Chinese destinations on a seasonal basis. Chinese airlines have also operated some charters to Phu Quoc over the past few years

A large % of the expat community on the island are older males and complicit.... they came to Vietnam for one obvious reason.... what do you think that reason is? {comment below}

This vacation island in Vietnam was to be the dessert course of a carefully balanced vacation meal. There are sights to see, but it's not quite the confection it once was. Or is it?

These floating playgrounds have invaded Phu Quoc ( as well as the rest of S.E. Asia).
