“from city kid to mountain soul in 3 days 🏍️✨”
Just wrapped up the most unreal motorbike trip through Hà Giang and I swear… my soul is still somewhere up there in the mountains 😩⛰️
We rode through winding cliff roads, raced clouds, screamed into the wind, and stopped at every corner ‘cause the views were just that stupidly gorgeous. Like—HOW is this all real?? Every turn looked like a screensaver.
But the real plot twist?
We slept in a local family’s home deep in the valley.
Not a hotel. Not a resort. A proper, no-WiFi, wood-and-bamboo homestay. And it was the BEST part of the trip.
The family welcomed us like long-lost cousins. Grandma handed us hot tea the second we walked in. The kids kept laughing at our pronunciation. We sat on tiny wooden stools around a smoky kitchen fire, helping chop veggies while dogs and chickens ran around like they owned the place (spoiler: they kinda did 🐔).
Dinner was homemade, no cap: sticky rice, wild herbs, grilled pork, and something fermented that slapped harder than expected 😳. We all sat together, shared stories in broken English-Vietnamese and hand signs, and toasted shots of corn wine like old friends. It felt warm, real, and way more alive than any 5-star place.
After dinner, we lay under a million stars (no light pollution up there!), listening to the wind rustling through the trees and a few dogs howling in the distance. No phone. No Netflix. Just vibes ✨🌙
In the morning, we woke up to mountain mist, rooster alarms, and a simple breakfast of bánh cuốn and fresh herbs. Honestly, I didn’t wanna leave.
