๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ | THE WRITER CONTINUES THE DREAM OF THE VIETNAMESE KING OF SHIPS
The Heritage Cruises Binh Chuan was also built to commemorate Bach Thai Buoi, who has been known as the โKing of Shipsโ in Vietnam.
"The King of Waterways" Bแบกch Thรกi Bฦฐแปi
Little Bฦฐแปi lost his father at a young age and had to follow his mother, who was a street vendor. Seeing his intelligence, the Bแบกch family adopted him and provided for his education.
At 21, Bแบกch Thรกi Bฦฐแปi worked as a secretary for a trading company. Soon after, he started his own business, engaging in various trades: timber trading, corn trading, pawnbroking, running a printing house, mining... Despite occasional failures, he never lost heart.
Bแบกch Thรกi Bฦฐแปi founded a water transport company when Chinese and French ships dominated the waterways of Northern Vietnam. He sent people to the piers to give speeches. On each ship, he posted the slogan "People should ride our ships" and hung a box for passengers who agreed with him to put money in to support the ship owner. When the box was opened, there were plenty of coins, many of them of high value.
His ships' passengers increased day by day. Many Chinese and French ship owners had to sell their ships to him. Then he bought a ship repair workshop and hired skilled engineers to oversee it. At its peak, Bแบกch Thรกi Bฦฐแปi's company had thirty large and small ships with historical names: Hแปng Bร ng, Lแบกc Long, Trฦฐng Trแบฏc, Trฦฐng Nhแป.
In just ten years, Bแบกch Thรกi Bฦฐแปi had become "an economic hero" as recognized by his contemporaries.
