An 81-meter-tall statue of the meditating Shakyamuni Buddha is being carved directly into the cliff face of Sam Mountain in An Giang province 🪷🙏

A key component of the Sam Mountain Cultural Park, the project began in 2015 and is currently being completed by artisans, with final completion expected by the end of 2027.

Upon completion, it will be the world's tallest Buddha statue carved directly into a cliff face, surpassing the 71-meter-tall Leshan Giant Buddha in China. The project has a total investment of approximately 255 billion VND and is expected to become a new highlight of spiritual tourism in An Giang.
