Ginseng Sweet Potatoes
This kind of potato is popular in Y Ty Village, Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province - northwestern Vietnam. Although the food is rich in nutrients, it doesn't cost too much.
It's sure that a trip to uncover marvelous scenic landscapes and hunt for the cloudy vistas of the mountainous area will be much more intriguing if you get a chance to take a couple of bites of the ginseng sweet potato.

FOOD SCENE IN FABULOUS SCENERY OF HALONG BAY
1. Bun be be
Bun be be or noodles with mantis shrimp is a popular breakfast and even a common lunch dish in Halong Town. The highlight of this dish here is the sweet and firm flesh of the shrimp. You can find bun be be at local markets or seafood markets near the beach.
2. Pho
The iconic dish of Halong town is surely “pho bo” (beef noodle soup) that you can enjoy to start a fresh day here. You can find the best pho stalls in the town, such as Dinh Gia’s and Sinh’s on Tran Hung Dao Street.
3. Tiet ngam ngai cuu
(braised blood with mugwort)
“Tiet ngam ngai cuu” or also known as the braised blood with mugwort is definitely a nutritional snack to eat in the late afternoon in Halong Bay. Though the dish looks not so yummy at first, but we can tell that this is worth a taste. It’s quite cheap to eat, at only VND 10,000 – 20,000 per serving.
4. Banh cuon cha muc
( steamed rice rolls with fried squid)
Locals tend to enjoy “cha muc” (squid fritter) with “banh cuon” (rice rolls). This allows them to taste the smooth steamed rice sheets loaded with minced pork and the crunchy fried squid in a round. A few stalls also include shrimps in this dish. A serving of banh cuon cha muc would cost VND30,000 – 55,000, based on how much squid you order.

Banh Can Le is a great stall that attracts many tourists to enjoy. The place has many kinds of attractive cakes such as pie with quail eggs, beef stew, chicken eggs ... In addition to base cakes, the eatery also serves milk tea, flan cake, cheese yogurt ...
2. Banh Can 14 Tang Bat Ho Street
Among the popular Banh Can stalls in Dalat, the shop No. 14 has the most abundant banh can menu. Quail egg cake, minced beef cake, chicken egg cake ... are all available. The dipping sauce and fish sauce very bold. On the menu of the restaurant there are also the eye-catching cheese and milk flan.
3. Banh Can Xuan An
The shop is located at the top of Nha Chung street, so it is easy to find. Banh can here is very delicious. There are also chopped green mangoes in Vietnamese preserved plums to create a very unique flavor, while the sauce is tasty enough. The restaurant is very crowded so visitors have to wait for 10-15 minutes to have food. The owner is very enthusiastic, so even though the restaurant is crowded, tourists often stop by to eat.
