π»π³ TRAVEL UPDATE: New Health Declaration Regulations from July 1, 2026!
Decree No. 165/2026/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of several articles of the Law on Disease Prevention will officially take effect in Vietnam starting July 1, 2026.
Check out the key updates below:
πΉ Applicable Travelers: All inbound, outbound, and transit travelers passing through Vietnamese border gates may be required to complete a health declaration, subject to the actual public health situation.
πΉ Timing: The health declaration must be completed within 7 days prior to entry, departure, or transit through Vietnam's border gates.
πΉ Methods of Declaration: Travelers can choose one of two options:
Electronic Declaration: Via the official online system or application.
Paper Form: Completed directly using the official form (Appendix V issued with the Decree).
πΉ Language:
βͺ The declaration form is available in bilingual Vietnamese and English.
βͺ Depending on global health situations, border gates may provide additional languages to support travelers.
πΉ Accompanying Medical Documents (If required): Subject to directives from the Ministry of Health based on global health situations at the time, passengers may need to present vaccination certificates or other proofs of preventive measures.
πΉ Border Health Screening Procedures:
βͺ Border health quarantine officers will conduct monitoring (both direct and indirect), including document checks, travel itinerary interviews, inquiries about preventive measures taken, and health symptom screening.
βͺ Should further on-site health screening be required, the processing time will not exceed 2 hours per individual.
