In the soy sauce village of Bần, rows of clay jars sit fermenting in the sun, some capped with wicker lids, others left open. A woman moves between them, stopping to stir one jar with a wooden paddle, mixing the dark liquid inside. The process takes months, and the work is repetitive — she's done this many times before. The smell of fermenting soybeans fills the air. This traditional method, passed down through generations, is what gives Bần's soy sauce its distinct flavor.

Central Vietnam's Salt Fields: Where Light Becomes the Subject ☀️🧂

There's a narrow window each morning when the salt flats of Central Vietnam turn into something photographers wait years to find — flooded pans transforming into perfect mirrors, doubling the sunrise until you can't tell where sky ends and earth begins.
This isn't staged. It's real, physical labor — farmers raking crystallized salt into gleaming white mounds from dawn through the heat of midday, their silhouettes framed against blinding white fields and cobalt sky. Bleached salt, sun-bronzed skin, indigo work clothes, teal reflections — a color palette you simply can't manufacture in a studio.
