HE FLEW OVER 1,000KM TO RETURN A LOST WEDDING RING TO TWO TOURISTS ๐
Some travel stories remind us that the most precious souvenirs arenโt the things we buy, but the kindness we encounter along the way!
For a Portuguese couple visiting Vietnam, what began as a heartbreaking accident at My Khe Beach in Da Nang turned into a story they will probably never forget.
On October 19, the couple accidentally lost their wedding ring while swimming in the sea. They tried to find it but couldnโt recover the precious piece of jewelry. With little hope left, they returned to their hotel and asked for help.
Thatโs when Phan Thanh Trinh, a member of Da Nangโs beach tourism management team, stepped in.
Knowing how much the ring meant to the couple, Trinh brought a metal detector into the sea and began searching the area where it had gone missing.
But finding a tiny ring in the ocean is no easy task! Strong waves and shifting sand made the search incredibly difficult.
Still, he refused to give up.
After two days of searching, Trinh finally found the gold wedding ring on the afternoon of October 21.
Trinh called the couple with the good news... but they had already left for Phu Quoc on October 20, and were due to fly home soon ๐ฎ
Going back to Da Nang would mean changing their whole itinerary and spending more money. But the ring meant too much to leave behind.
So they asked: could Trinh bring it to them in person? They offered to cover his flight ticket.
After getting approval from his supervisors, he said yes
On the morning of October 22, Trinh landed at Phu Quoc Airport. And there they were, the couple, already waiting for him at the arrivals gate ๐ฅน
The ring was placed back in their hands. Smiles, thank-yous, and a lot of gratitude followed

Trinh did all of this at no charge. He simply wanted to help visitors recover something deeply meaningful, and hoped his small act would spread the image of a friendly, welcoming Da Nang ๐ด
And this isnโt his first time. The Beach Tourism Order Management Team has helped locals and tourists recover lost phones, rings, and other valuables many times. Their leaders say helping visitors in trouble is simply part of the job, building a Da Nang that feels caring, thoughtful, and trustworthy
A ring is small. But for the people who wear it, it can mean everything. Sometimes the most unforgettable travel memory isnโt the beach itself, but the stranger who crossed 1,000km to give a little piece of your heart back ๐
