A peaceful corner of Hue 🇻🇳

Located around 10 km from Hue city center, Minh Mang Tomb is one of the best-preserved royal sites of the Nguyen Dynasty. Built in the 19th century, the complex is known for its elegant architecture, peaceful lakes, landscaped gardens, and the harmonious way it blends into the surrounding natural setting. The tomb is often regarded as one of the finest examples of Nguyen-era architecture and remains a popular stop for travelers exploring the history and heritage of Vietnam's former imperial capital.

Into the old-world beauty of Phuoc Tich Pottery Village

Nestled within the ancient village of Phuoc Tich along the banks of the O Lau River, around 40 km north of Hue's town, Phuoc Tich Pottery Village has a history dating back nearly 500 years. During the Nguyen Dynasty, its pottery was highly valued and even supplied to the imperial court.

Unlike many ceramic villages in Vietnam, Phuoc Tich pottery is known for its distinctive reddish-brown color, created without glaze and fired using traditional wood-burning kilns. Pottery products were traditionally used in daily life, including cooking pots, jars, and household utensils.

Although production is no longer as active as it once was, visitors can still explore the remaining kilns, learn about traditional pottery-making techniques, and even try themself shaping clay by hand.

As a DMC, we believe that these quite cultural treasures deserve to be experienced and appreciated by more travelers, not only to share an important part of Vietnam’s heritage, but also to help keep these traditional craftsmanship alive.
