10 Days in Northern Vietnam: The Perfect Gentle Journey for Adventure Lovers of Culture and Landscape✨

You’re a group of five friends from the UK. You want to dive deep into Vietnamese culture, eat your way through legendary street food, walk through living history, and add just a sprinkle of soft adventure, all while enjoying warm, attentive service that feels genuinely local.

But here's the thing: You don't want a generic tour. You don't want to be herded from one attraction to the next, ticking boxes like it's a chore. No rushed checklists, no extreme treks. Just a beautifully paced, soulful exploration of the north.

First, a quick geography lesson. The Red River Delta is the cultural heart with Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. The Northeast is rugged and raw, with highlights such as Ha Giang, Cao Bang, and Halong Bay. The Northwest is the land of clouds and terraced rice fields like Sapa, Mai Chau, Mu Cang Chai.

Take the rice terraces in Sapa ,Mu Cang Chai or Hoang Su Phi sit high in the mountains, so the terraces are steep, dramatic, carved into slopes that seem almost vertical. Trekking here means climbing. Ha Giang is even more remote, with the rice terraces feel like they belong to another century, surrounded by jaw-dropping mountain passes. Mai Chau, on the other hand, is gentler when the rice fields spread across a peaceful valley floor. You can cycle through them, not trek.

With that in mind, this is what 10 days in Northern Vietnam can look like for the above requests:
