Before You Visit Hanoi Train Street, Read This 🚆
Hanoi Train Street is one of the most famous attractions in Hanoi, where trains pass incredibly close to residential homes and small cafés, creating one of the city’s most unique and iconic scenes.
However, visitors should keep a few things in mind:
Access is not always freely open because regulations change frequently. Some entrances may be blocked, or visitors may only be allowed in through cafés.
The best time to visit is in the late afternoon or evening, when the lights come on and the atmosphere becomes more lively.
When the train approaches, always follow instructions from locals or café staff and avoid standing on the tracks for too long, as this is an active railway line.
The cafés here are well known for Vietnamese egg coffee, coconut coffee, and bạc xỉu.
Trains do not pass constantly, and sometimes visitors may need to wait quite a while. However, the everyday local life around the railway is often what makes the experience truly special.
After visiting, many travelers choose to relax at nearby restaurants or quiet cafés around the Old Quarter to experience another side of Hanoi.
